This is a program is aimed to decrease the amount of diabetes-related complications experienced by a low-income, hispanic immigrant community in Athens, Georgia. I created this program plan during my Program Planning course during the Fall 2020 semester. To access the full program plan, click here.

This program showcases my ability to:

  • Assess the priority needs of a population in relation to a specific health issue
  • Create a plan that would address this issue in measurable terms
  • Locate all resources (staff, materials, curriculum, etc.) needed to implement the program within a $250K budget within and two year timeline

This program plan was my first exposure to developing an entire health promotion program from start to finish. Although this project is hypothetical, I am confident that if it were actually implemented in Athens, it would be successful in increasing the diabetes self-management behaviors in the population in measurable terms.
